Corydalis
Corydalis is an herb often used in traditional Chinese medicine for pain relief. headaches, menstrual pain and back pain – even back pain caused by nerve problems or muscle spasms. A compound, dehydrocorybulbine (DHCB), is thought to be responsible for the herb’s pain-relieving effects. Corydalis is a member of the poppy family, and is an anodyne, a central nervous system depressant and sedative. Corydalis contains the alkaloid bulbocapnine, which is occasionally used in alternative medicine to treat convulsions.
